This project focused on a single material used across the home: Calacatta Borghini.
Frank, our MD, was in Italy sourcing stone and worked closely with the client while out there to help find the perfect block. They stayed in regular contact, reviewing options in real time until the right one came along, a beautiful Borghini with soft tone and distinctive veining.
Back in the UK, we continued that collaboration through the design phase. The same marble was used across the kitchen, powder room, two fireplaces, the master ensuite and the family bathroom, around 25 slabs in total.
Every slab was scanned before cutting, so we could plan how to use the material properly. That meant uninterrupted vein flow, clean book-matching and minimal design compromises.
Key details included:
- In the master ensuite, a dramatic book match, centring the room which flowed into the shower enclosure.
- A fully marble-clad bath, with wraparound walls and cladded drawer fronts, creating a calm, cohesive space.
- Fully clad vanity, with continuous veining across drawers, down stand and worktop.
- Inset splashbacks behind glass-fronted cabinets and a solid-looking Belfast-style sink surround in the kitchen.
- Two bespoke fireplaces in a contemporary style, cut from 20mm material, designed to look like it had been made from a solid block.
